Everything We Know About Olivia Rodrigo’s New Album and Tour

Two days ago, Olivia Rodrigo finally announced the full track list for her forthcoming sophomore album Guts. The record lead single, “Vampire,” arrived earlier this summer (June 30). The song signaled a new era for Rodrigo, who debuted a new rock-opera inspired sound with fitful drums and zealous piano. “Vampire” starts off as a breakup ballad and mounts to something triumphant, core-shattering.

Rodrigo said about the new single: “It’s a song about feeling confused and hurt, and at first I thought it was meant to be a piano ballad. But when Dan and I started working on it, we juxtaposed the lyrics with these big drums and crazy tempo changes. So now it’s like a heartbreak song you can dance to.”

Fans didn’t have to wait very long for Rodrigo to follow-up her 2021 album Sour. But now that the official new album announcement has arrived, it’s going to be even tougher to stick it out until Guts hits streaming services. Here is everything we know about Olivia Rodrigo’s new album (and tour).

Guts Album Release Date

Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts will arrive September 8, 2023, via Geffen. The first Guts single arrived earlier this summer, on June 30th. We only have the one, new Olivia Rodrigo single so far, but we are confident we’ll be hearing at least two more singles before the album drops.

In the teaser video Rodrigo dropped after the song title scavenger hunt, she confirmed there will be 12 tracks on the forthcoming Guts.

Will there be featured guests on Guts?

If fans are to go off of the teaser video Olivia Rodrigo dropped Aug. 1, there will be no featured guests on Guts. Unfortunately, there won’t be a Lana Del Rey collaboration like fans had speculated and hoped for.

When is Olivia Rodrigo going on tour?

In order to predict when Olivia Rodrigo goes on tour, we need to look at the process and promotion of Sour. Olivia Rodrigo released her debut album Sour in May 2021. She announced her first solo concert tour on December 6th, perhaps later than she would’ve otherwise due to her ongoing contracted commitment to Disney.

Which means, it was seven months between Olivia Rodrigo dropping her album and announcing her concert tour. Considering Guts doesn’t arrive until next month, will Olivia Rodrigo tour in 2023?

No, not likely. But we think there is a good chance she will announce her next concert tour, in promotion of Guts, before the end of the year. Since Rodrigo is no longer contractually obligated by Disney, she will have the freedom to announce her concert tour plans as soon as they are ready.

It is very likely Olivia Rodrigo announces her Guts concert tour just a month after the album drops, sometime this fall. We think it’s likely that the Guts tour begins in March.
