Flying Lotus Tour Dates Announced featuring Teebs, Thundercat, & Ultraísta

Steve Ellison, popularly known as Flying Lotus, is touring around the United States with the likes of his friends, legendary artists Thundercat and Teebs.  However, rather than pairing with Teebs & Thundercat in New York, the Los Angeles native producer is playing with Ultraísta for the May 5th Flying Lotus x Ultraísta concert at Terminal 5.  Flying Lotus is one of the most innovative and ground-breaking producers of today’s sound.  He has tremendous ability to produce, a brilliant and witty rap alias in Captain Murphy, as well his very own indepedent record label which focuses on both instrumental hip hop and electronic music.  Ellison has developed a unique electronic sound that is reminiscent of the developing LA genre yet still feels extremely organic.  Flying Lotus has brilliantly gathered amazing talent, including Teebs and Thundercat in addition to a long list of artists, to release upon his record label.  It has been a successful venture thus far for Ellison and his Brainfeeder label.

Flying Lotus is continually pushing the innovative boundaries of music. His most recent album release, Until the Quiet Comes, is not only a musical masterpiece but incredibly forward-thinking in its correlation with video. Kahill Joseph directed the video portion while the audio and music was completely up to Flying Lotus. The final piece these two created is jaw-dropping in its beauty, simplicity, and flawless form. Comments on the video?  I personally think it’s the best music video I have ever seen and if you didn’t enjoy that one, perhaps it felt too real to you, then check out the other music video that was done by Flying Lotus. The latter one is animated so their is a difference between the two videos, but I think you will find the second, although animated, just as engaging as the first. His ability to match video with audio is impeccable and displayed in every work he touches.
