Imperial Theatre Interactive Seating Chart | Water for Elephants
The Imperial Theatre, built by the legendary Shubert Brothers as a premier house of live entertainment, continues to host some of the most incredible shows on Broadway. The recessed ceiling, ornamental panels, and luxurious decor make this one of the most architecturally outstanding theaters in New York City.
Now showing at the Imperial Theatre is Water for Elephants the Musical. Based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Sara Gruen, this circus-themed love story remains one of the most dazzling productions available to see on Broadway.
Broadway tickets can be extremely expensive, which is why we want to help you find the absolute best seat in the house. Here is an Imperial Theatre seating chart, the best seating options for the show, Water for Elephants ticket lottery information, and more.

Imperial Theatre Seating Options
The seats at the Imperial Theatre are broken up into three sections: Orchestra, Front Mezzanine, and Rear Mezzanine. The ground-level Orchestra is divided into three sections (Left, Right, Center) with the best views being towards the front and middle.
The Mezzanine sections are broken down into four and five sections. The views are going to be more restricted on the far sides of both Mezzanine sections, as well as the edges of the Left and Right Orchestra.
There are boxes available at the Imperial Theatre for private, yet restricted, seating.

Here, you will see a section by section breakdown of the Imperial Theatre seating chart. You can scroll over any section to see the seats row by row.
Best seats at the Imperial Theatre
The premium seats at the Imperial Theatre, which come at a greater cost, are located C to G of the Center Orchestra. Patrons who can snag these tickets will get an incredible, unobstructed view of the stage without having to crane their necks.
In the Front Mezzanine the best seats are in Row C and back, the more centered the better. We would avoid the first two rows of the Front Mezzanine because of the railing obstruction. The last row of the Front Mezzanine offers particularly high-value seats for the cost.
In the Rear Mezzanine, because of the orientation of the theater, we actually think the best seats are located in the Left and Right sections, from Row A through Row F.
Water for Elephants Lottery
For every performance of Water for Elephants there will be a limited number of tickets available through an online lottery. You can sign-up for the lottery here. Ticket entries begin at 12:00 AM, the day before the performance, and winners are drawn the same day at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Winners will be contacted by email and will have 3 hours to purchase up to (2) tickets for the show.
Additionally, there is an in-person lottery for Water for Elephants at the box office on performance days. The price of each ticket is $49. There is a limit of (2) tickets per person, available on a first-come, first-served basis, when the box office first opens (10:00 AM Monday to Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 PM).
Obstructed Views at Imperial Theatre
There are very few obstructed seats at the Imperial Theatre, given its size and the way the sections are oriented towards the stage. But there are a few obstructed sections to be aware of.
In the Orchestra, Left and Right, fans should, if they can, avoid sitting beyond Row P. These seats, the further you get from the aisle, are obstructed stage opposite the side you are sitting. For example, if you are in Orchestra Left Row R, the right side of the stage will be partially obstructed.
The first few rows in the Front Mezzanine will be partially obstructed by the railing, which is raised a few inches above the edge of the box. The far right and far left sections of the Front Mezzanine will be partially obstructed as well. If you decide to sit in the Rear Mezzanine, we suggest only buying seats in the center section to avoid any obstruction.
