Guster, originally formed in 1998, began as a "quirky acoustic trio", but you wouldn't know it by listening to the sonically complex music Guster produces now. After spending their early years releasing independent albums and touring around Tufts University, the three co-founders were joined by percussionist Brian Rosenworcel and multi-instrumentalist Joe Pisapia, officially morphing Guster into a folk and experimental rock band. In 1999, Guster released Long and Gone Forever, a rich and maturely composed record with beautiful and dramatic vocal harmonies, a perfect entrance into the folk-pop genre. Since Long and Gone Forever, their unofficial breakthrough album, Guster has enjoyed wide reception in the indie rock genre, making appearances at several music festivals. This past year, Guster released Evermotion, which was met with positive reviews.
