Pittsburgh Basketball is looking to make a return trip to the NCAA Tournament this year after missing out on the dance last season for just the second time since 2000-01 and second time in head coach Jamie Dixon's 12-year tenure. The success of this year's team will depend heavily on the play of junior forwards Jamel Artis and Michael Young, who should both pace the team in scoring and provide big plays when the team needs them most. Pitt is in a tough spot being in such a tough and deep ACC, but in a league that routinely gets seven or eight bids in the NCAA Tournament, finishing towards the middle of the pack could have them dancing come March.
