The Falcons are a franchise that has seen a smattering of success during its history, including a Super Bowl appearance in 1998 and four playoff appearances since drafting franchise quarterback Matt Ryan in 2008. They are looking for even more going forward and with dynamic players like Julio Jones leading the way, they can build up a roster capable of challenging for NFC South titles year after year. If you're looking to check out this franchise on the rise, be sure to check out TickPick, where you'll find cheap tickets that NEVER include any buyer fees!

Falcons Hope to Navigate Tough Schedule Back to Playoffs Atlanta has been attempting to build its defense from the ground up over the last few years, and has seen their win total increase by two in each of the last two seasons since bottoming out with a 4-12 record in 2013. Second-year head coach Dan Quinn is hoping to get this team back to the playoffs for the first time since 2012, but this year's schedule doesn't look like it'll do them any favors, as they have what's tied for the most difficult strength of schedule in the NFL based on the combined 2016 winning percentages of their opponents. One of the most interesting matchups this team will be a part of this year comes in Week 4 versus defending NFC champ Carolina at home, which will be the first 2016 playoff team that they face and will possibly be their first true test after what could be a hot start versus Tampa Bay, Oakland and then New Orleans in the first three weeks. All of these games appear on the surface to be winnable ones for this Falcons squad, and if they start hot, they could ride the momentum back to the postseason. Falcons Focus on Improving Defense in 2016 Draft Just Like They Did Last Year The Falcons continued their trend of adding defensive talent with their top picks in the draft, dating all the way back to last year when they brought in head coach Dan Quinn. The Falcons are doing the right thing by addressing a defense that was among the worst in the league heading into Quinn's tenure, and they chose to address the back half first with their first-round pick this year of safety Keanu Neal out of Florida. Neal was considered by many to be a reach at this spot, but you can't really fault Atlanta for addressing a definite area of need early on. Their second-round pick of linebacker Deion Jones out of LSU and fourth-round selection of De'Vondre Campbell out of Minnesota should help shore up their front seven. Tight end Austin Hooper out of Stanford, who was taken in the third, should hopefully contribute a wrinkle to this offense, allowing for different packages and matchup nightmares for opposing defenses that have been able to key in on Julio Jones for so many seasons now. All in all, the Falcons did pretty well to mainly address defensive concerns and should see an improvement on that side of the ball as a result of this draft class.
