History and Overview
Michigan Stadium, also know as The Big House, is the football stadium for the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. It is the largest stadium in the United States, with an official capacity of 109,901, although it can host crowds in excess of 115,000. The record attendance at Michigan Stadium is 115,109 on September 7, 2013 against the University of Notre Dame. Michigan Stadium is bleacher seating and is made up of a single level containing up to 98 rows in a single section, making higher level rows similar to upper level seats in more traditional stadiums.
The best seats at Michigan stadium are located in the sections closest to midfield such as sections 22-24, 1-2, and 44. Because these sections have so many rows, you ideally want to sit between rows 10-30 so you can watch the plays develop from all corners of the field. If you are going to a University of Michigan game to get drunk and have a rowdy time, the aforementioned student sections are the place for you.
The Michigan Wolverines bench is located in front of sections 22-24, and the visitors bench is located in front of sections 1-2 and 44.
The club level at Michigan Stadium is located above the east sideline (where the visitors bench is located). The Outdoor/Indoor Club seats have chairbacks, provide access to an indoor climate controlled lounge, and upscale cuisine and beverage options. These sections are very small, with only 5-8 rows per section.
Michigan Stadium Student Sections are located in sections 25-33R, and they are without question the most rowdy seats inside The Big House. Don't expect to sit at all in these seats, and if you are brining children to the game you want to steer clear of these sections at all costs.
