Pit Tickets at American Family Insurance Amphitheater
The Pit at American Family Insurance Amphitheater is set up two ways depending on the event. Usually the Pit section contains three rows of reserve seating with seat numbers, however for some events the Pit is set up as a general admission section with no assigned seats. When the Pit is set up for general admission, the section is standing room only.
History and Overview
Opening in 1987, the American Family Insurance Amphitheater sits on the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee. The amphitheater was built after an overcrowded concert caused safety concerns and today has a capacity of 25,000. The American Family Insurance Amphitheater is home to Summerfest, one of the largest annual music festivals in the world, drawing close to a million visitors over the course of eleven days. Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, and Sting are a few that have performed at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater over the years.

The lawn at American Family Insurance Amphitheater can fit several thousand people and is a popular choice of seating for many. The lawn is a general admission section, which means there are no assigned seats. Most bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on, however, make sure you arrive early to get spot with a good view of the stage.
