Monitors and Box Seats at MSG Theater
For concerts the box seats R1 to R12 or L1 to L12, may be enjoyable, however, for comedy shows and other similar performances these are not the best or most desired seats. That is because you will be toward the side of the stage and may even have a difficult time seeing the large monitors that are on the sides of the stage.
Seating Chart with GA Seats for the Theater of MSG
The Theater of Madison Square Garden occasional has concerts where they remove the 100s sections and replace these seats with a GA (General Admission) section. This is a standing room only ticket and it's on a first come first serve basis. These seats are some of the best seats and will get you close to the stage.
MSG Theater Direction of Seat Numbers
The seat numbers in the MSG Theater are very important in determining how good your seats are, particularly when you are looking at the sections on the sides. The way the MSG theater seat numbers work is that when you are facing the stage, seat number 1 will always be on the left of the section and the higher seat numbers on the right side. This means that when sitting in the odd number sections 101, 201, 203, 205, 301, 303, or 305 you would want seats with a higher seat number so that you are closer to the center of the stage and vice versa for seats on the other side of the theater. For example seat number 1 in section 204 is next to section 202 and seat number 15 is next to section 206.
