Ashley Frangipane, formally known by her stage name Halsey, was one of the biggest breakout acts of 2016. Taking her name from a Brooklyn L Train stop, this Jersey native quickly assimilated into the electro-pop music scene of Brooklyn. And not only did she fit in, but she dominated, bringing the burgeoning scene into the widespread, public eye. After getting some pretty massive attention, namely by Rolling Stone Magazine, Halsey gained the momentum she needed to release her debut record Badlands, an album which has since been lauded by electro-pop and indie music lovers alike. Now she's got hits like "Graveyard" and "Bad at Love."
