2016 was certainly the year for breakout acts, RnB crooner Leon Bridges being one of them. Hailing in from Fort Worth TX, Leon Bridges got his start by performing gospel and soul music around the metroplex, eventually gaining recognition after a set at SXSW. His hit single "Coming Home" is reminiscent of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, bringing back the elements of 1960's RnB. Leon Bridges has a wonderful voice, but even greater are his lyrics, which have been described as a "transmission straight to the heart". Who knows how Leon Bridges will expand his sound, but due to his evident talent, the music industry has welcomed him in with open arms, his old fashioned style and all.
