After departing from the post-punk band From First to Last, Sonny Moore, now known as Skrillex, took a major career turn. Since the Myspace debut of My Name is Skrillex, he has become one of the few faces of EDM music, being one of the pioneers who has ushered it to being what it is today. Along with other producers such as Diplo, Deadmau5, and Zedd, Skrillex has managed to work his way into the popular music industry, their presence not only affecting how much EDM is in the charts, but what pop music has turned into entirely. The latest Skrillex album, Recess, was his signature blend of hip-hop, reggae, and dubstep. Now, Skrillex works under two music producing entities, his own, and the duo Jack U, the other half comprising of Diplo.
