[sc name=”Flair Corner”] Okay, so it’s not Survivor Series or Wrestlemania, but it’s the last pay-per-view of the year and you can bet the WWE is going to milk it for all it’s worth. They’ve sure put a better effort into hyping up TLC than they did Survivor Series, so we’ll give them that. There are a few interesting matchups and title challenges… as well as a couple we could do without. But don’t forget, there will be legal tables, ladders, and chairs involved in some of these matches! Here’s the match card as well as our predictions for WWE TLC 2018, scheduled to take place in San Jose, California on December 16th.

Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match

Ahh, does anyone really care about this match-up? Or this feud at all? If Braun Strowman wins, he’ll get a shot at Brock Lesnar and the WWE Universal Title at the Royal Rumble in January… and Baron Corbin will lose all authority over Monday Night Raw. If Corbin wins, however, he’ll become the permanent general manager of Raw.

While the Monster Among Men is supposedly out with a gross-looking bruised elbow, having paid a visit to the hospital last week, we think he’ll still dominate Corbin in this match. There’s really nobody else left to challenge Lesnar (except maybe AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan… again?) so unless the WWE plans to hold out for a Universal Title match, we think Strowman will win this one. Also, doesn’t everybody just want to see Constable Corbin go away? Another possibility is that, to fit their storyline of The Monster’s surgery, they’ll send someone else out to fight Corbin when Strowman doesn’t show up. Please no.

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose – Intercontinental Championship

These former friends will finally meet head to head in their first sanctioned match since Dean Ambrose turned on his Shield brothers. Will we learn more about why Ambrose is actually mad at Rollins? Or is there not really a reason? Rollins is a big crowd favorite and he’s apparently pumped about this match. With weeks of feuding behind them, it’d be nice to see the WWE put this one to rest… or not. Ambrose could easily capture the title and string this one along for a few months until the next major PPV event. With Roman Reigns away indefinitely, it’s nice to see them both in the spotlight and finally get Ambrose some time on the mic (even if it’s sometimes cringe-worthy). After weeks of getting beaten down, we think Rollins gets to keep the title. Just don’t expect either of these men to win the match clean.

Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax – Raw Women’s Championship

Again, we STILL want to see Ronda Rousey take on Becky Lynch in a throwdown between the two biggest WWE crowd favorites… but that’s not going down just yet (maybe Wrestlemania?). We’ll just have to keep waiting while Rousey takes on lesser opponents, which is truly what this feels like. Nia Jax got the right to challenge Rousey for the title after winning the Battle Royal at WWE Evolution a couple months back. Despite their size difference, Rousey and Jax had a decent match at Money in the Bank this summer. But it just feels like we’re biding our time until we can see the Baddest Woman on the Planet take on Lynch or Charlotte Flair. Rousey has already said she’ll finish off The Queen after she takes care of Jax. Yep, Rousey wins this one. But look out for an interference by Tamina Snuka.

Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Asuka – SmackDown Women’s Championship

If it had to be a triple threat, thank goodness it was Asuka who won the Battle Royal on SmackDown to qualify for this match instead of somebody else from the SmackDown women’s locker room. At least it’s believable that she could potentially win this one. And it’s good to see them pulling her to the front of the roster again after she was so dominant several months back (remember her battles with Carmella and Flair?). It’s also a tables, ladders, and chairs match so this one could get ugly. After all, The Queen has experience beating people with foreign objects as of late. Don’t panic, but there have been rumors swirling the Internet that everyone’s favorite Irishwoman Becky Lynch could be dropping her title here. Could we be saying so long to The Man as champ for a little while? Is it possible that Asuka could walk away with the belt? We think so. You know, for the surprise factor and all…

Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles – WWE Championship

AJ Styles had been the WWE Champ for over a year, so it was only appropriate that he lost it to someone eventually. But to a (recently turned) heel like the “new” Daniel Bryan? Who woulda thought?! This is Bryan’s fourth title win since coming out of retirement and he is super hatable right now. These two men have great chemistry in the ring together, so expect a hard-fought, impressive match. However, we don’t see the belt changing hands just yet so we’re calling this one for Bryan. They’ll probably continue to feud and let it all bubble over at another PPV event. Or the WWE will find a new opponent for Bryan. Samoa Joe perhaps?

The Usos vs. The Bar vs. The New Day – SmackDown Tag Team Title

Man, SmackDown’s tag teams are just so much better than Raw’s. The Usos and The New Day are so dang likable as teams. And they have mutual respect for one another. We think they’ll use their high-flying styles to weed out The Bar early on – it’ll just be a battle with each other to see who can do it first. To change things up a little bit, we’re giving this one to The Usos. Can’t wait to see what The New Day wears though!

Finn Balor vs. Drew McIntyre

This match was scheduled just because they hate each other, right? And they both have accents. No really, Finn Balor and Drew McIntyre have been feuding for weeks with McIntyre having the significant upper hand until just recently. Balor hasn’t been quite as impressive, but he clearly has it in him and the WWE is trying to put him forth as a force to be reckoned with. McIntyre is probably still fuming over Balor’s interference on Raw which cost him the match with Dolph Ziggler, so he’s got that as motivation too. With his personality (and looks), we suspect the Scotsman could be a contender for some much bigger titles in the future. Give this one to the heel.

Elias vs. Bobby Lashley

The newly lovable Elias takes on the newly hatable and annoying Bobby Lashley with little manager Lio Rush no doubt standing ringside, ready to interfere. After Elias’s recent poundings at the hands of this duo and his surging popularity with the crowd as a babyface, we think Elias wins this match. Maybe we’ll even get a rendition of “Bobby Lashley Sucks” before the match?!
