Jets Use Total of Nine Picks in 2017 Draft to Help Address Roster Holes The Jets were competing with a roster that was depleted of talent in 2016 and looked to hopefully turn things around sooner than later through the 2017 draft that ultimately netted them nine picks. They took the best player available with their first selection at number six overall in LSU Safety Jamal Adams, who should seriously improve their secondary in the short and long-term. They doubled down in the second with the selection of another SEC Safety in Marcus Maye out of Florida. These two could combine to form a formidable safety tandem for years to come. New York took wideouts with their next two picks in the third and fourth round in ArDarius Stewart from Alabama and Chad Hansen from California, respectively. They had a hole at WR with Brandon Marshall gone and at least one of these two should fill in nicely in time. Overall, this draft could certainly yield a decent amount of eventual starters for a roster in dire need of some, so this could prove to help in their hopeful turnaround. If you're looking to catch the Jets in person with cheap tickets, be sure to check out TickPick where you'll save big money by NEVER paying any fees!

Rebuilding Jets Have Tough Schedule in 2017 The Jets will try to rebuild after losing six of their last eight games and finishing in last place in the AFC East. Josh McCown looks to be the early favorite to start the season at Quarterback for the Jets, although New York may give either Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg the chance to run the offense at some point in the season. The Jets will open their season at Buffalo and then fly to Oakland before returning home for their season opener in week 3 versus the Dolphins. The toughest part of the Jets schedule looks to be the back-end, with three of their last four games coming away from MetLife Stadium, with trips to Denver, New Orleans, and New England to close the season New Years Eve.
Jets Had Mixed Results in 2016 Draft The Jets had themselves a bit of an interesting draft in that they looked to have hit on a safe but impactful first-rounder in middle linebacker Darron Lee out of Ohio State, who should help stop the run and provide coverage on intermediate routes on defense. On the other hand, they went for the home run with their second-rounder Christian Hackenberg, a quarterback out of Penn State who looked like one of the top prospects in the country after his freshman year but struggled mightily in the following two seasons (albeit while playing behind a notoriously awful offensive line). Jordan Jenkins, the outside linebacker who they took out of Georgia should help improve a pass rush that will give opposing quarterbacks nightmares in 2016.
