There are quite a few sections in Rio Tinto Stadium that offer fans some type of covered or shaded seats: 1-4, 16-22, and 35-37.
Real Salt Lake Bench and Visitor Bench
The Real Salt Lake bench is located in front of sections 21 and 22. The visiting team bench is located in front of sections 17.
Rio Tinto Stadium Overview
Rio Tinto Stadium is the home to Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake and its USL associate team, Real Monarchs SLC. The stadium opened on October 9, 2008, and seats 20,213 for soccer, but can be expanded to over 25,000 for concerts.The stadium hosted the 2009 MLS All-Star Game, the second leg of the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League Finals, and the final of the 2013 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. It was also a host stadium during the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, and a host for final stages of the 2015 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Rio Tinto Stadium Supporter Sections
Real Salt Lake has six main supporter groups: La Barra Real, The RioT Brigade, Rogue Cavaliers Brigade, Royal army, Section 26, and Salt City United. All six groups of an undying passion and love for Real Salt Lake. These supporter groups occupy sections 8-12. If you are a die hard Real Salt Lake fan, sitting in any of these sections is a must. However, if you are more of a casual fan, these sections may be a deterrent. Real Salt Lake have some of the most loyal and fierce supporter groups in the MLS.
