First, there were the mysterious, faux-antique images dispersed throughout major cities around the globe. Then, there were the social media updates, notably the band’s profile images changing into depictions of a sun and moon. It’s been long rumored that Coldplay has been working on their experimental album during this extended hiatus—one which began after 2015’s A Head Full of Dreams. And now, we finally have confirmation: Coldplay will be releasing a new album next month.

According to Coldplay, their forthcoming double album has been in the works “for the last 100 years or thereabouts.” Up to their playful selves, it appears that Coldplay haven’t retired. Instead, they’ve been hibernating towards what will be their largest work yet.

The first half of the LP is titled “Sunrise,” while the second portion is “Sunset.” Everyday Life arrives November 22, a full hundred years after the fake letter was written. In the posters littered across the world to promote Everyday Life, the band is pictured in black and white with German philosopher, poet, and composer Friedrich Nietzsche. We are dying to know the connection.

Now that Coldplay has officially announced their forthcoming album Everyday Life, fans are beginning to wonder if the band will hit the road in 2020. The last time Coldplay went on tour, it was to promote A Head Full of Dreams. This seventh global tour marked the band’s return to large-scale venues after the brief and intimate Ghost Stories tour. The “Head Full of Dreams Tour” consisted of 122 shows, 8 legs, and five continents. Running from March 31, 2016 – November 15, 2017, the “Head Full of Dreams Tour” was, without a doubt, Coldplay’s most ambitious tour.

Will Coldplay Tour in 2020? We think it’s likely that Coldplay will tour North America and Europe, at the least. Considering they’ve been removed from the limelight for a couple of years now, we’re not sure if the band is gearing up for a massive tour such as their promotion for Viva La Vida or Head Full of Dreams. But we do think Coldplay will tour Everyday Life in 2020, perhaps more in the vein of their shows for Ghost Stories.

Check back soon, as Coldplay traditionally announces their tour plans soon after the release of a new album. And remember, Everyday Life, Coldplay’s forthcoming double LP, is out November 22, 2019.
